OM Orange Money

Accept Orange Money on your site

Orange Money is the country's second wallet, and often the first one among your customers in the West and the North. WalleoPay speaks to both networks through the same integration: you never write the same checkout twice.

How an Orange Money payment unfolds

Four steps, always the same ones. What changes from one operator to the next is the approval — and that is precisely the part you do not have to deal with.

Step 1

You create the payment

The same API call as for MTN, with the amount in whole francs and your order reference. Nothing in your code changes with the customer's operator.

Step 2

Your customer types in their number

They enter their Orange number on the payment page. The prefix names the network, and the page switches to the Orange Money flow on its own.

Step 3

Orange takes over the approval

The customer finishes the payment on Orange's side, with their Orange Money PIN. Neither you nor we ever see that PIN.

Step 4

The outcome comes back signed

Orange sends us the outcome, we relay it to you as a signed notification, and you confirm through the API before releasing the order.

The numbers recognised as Orange Money

Your customer has no operator to choose: the prefix of their number is enough to route the request to the right network. These ranges follow the Cameroonian numbering plan, which the regulator revises from time to time.

69 655 656 657 658 659 685 686 687 688 689

Accepted amounts: from 100 FCFA to 1,000,000 FCFA per payment, in whole CFA francs — the XAF has no minor unit.

What to know before you plug it in

  • As with MTN, the limits applied depend on the customer's Orange Money account; going over one produces a clean failure, never a partial payment.

  • Paying the merchant code from remains possible for a customer who insists: they then declare the reference on the payment page, and the transaction is checked before approval.

  • The flow goes through a page hosted by Orange: expect your customer to leave your site for a few seconds, then come back to your return address.

Three ways to plug in Orange Money

Through the API

One request to create the payment, a signed notification when it settles, a status read-back before delivery. PHP and Node SDKs available.

Through a module

WooCommerce, PrestaShop and WHMCS: the module drops onto an existing store and adds the payment method to the checkout.

Through a payment link

With no website at all: you create a link from the dashboard, send it in a message, the customer pays and you are notified.

What it costs, and when you get paid

3 %

per successful payment, taken from the amount collected. Nothing on a payment that is declined, cancelled, expired or abandoned, and no subscription.

Payout to your own number

The net amount joins your balance, and you request the payout to your own Mobile Money number from the dashboard. Every movement leaves a line in your ledger.

Orange and Orange Money are trademarks of Orange S.A. WalleoPay is neither a subsidiary nor an agent of the operator: the platform simply routes your collections to its network.

What about the other operator?

The same account collects on both networks, with the same key and the same code. You do not have to pick an operator on your customers' behalf.
